What to drink when eating caviar
Caviar, one of the world’s finest ingredients, is expensive and should always be enjoyed properly. There are several beverage options that you can enjoy while eating caviar.
The most obvious choice is of course is champagne. Champagne’s effervescence complements the delicacy of the roe and enhances the experience.
A dry chilled white wine would also be a great accompaniment to caviar. A dry crisp wine will enhance and subdue at the same time the delightful saltiness of caviar.
A third option, and an extremely appropriate one, would be vodka. Caviar is Russian in origin and has been enjoyed with vodka for a very long time. Vodka is a great palate cleanser and allows you to more deeply enjoy the flavor of the caviar, but please avoid cheap vodka as it will do the opposite and taint your palate.
The last choice is not so obvious but very plain as it is pure water. Cold pure water is refreshing and leaves no aftertaste. A sparkling water would be a very elegant choice to pair with caviar as well.
